General Upper Secondary Education
Finnish general upper secondary education provides students with extensive general knowledge and skills needed in the development of their further studies, working life, leisure activities, and personality.
At the completion of general upper secondary school studies, students take the Finnish national matriculation examination.
The general upper secondary school syllabus normally takes three years to complete. After graduation students are ready to begin studies at a university, university of applied sciences and vocational training based on the general upper secondary education syllabus.
